Venn diagram comparison of Greek democracy and American democracy
Using research that you do on your own, you will create a Venn diagram comparing the Athenian democracy to the American democracy
Use a a sheet of computer paper or bigger.
The circle on the left should be the Athenian democracy. The circle on the right should be the American democracy. The area in the middle is the shared characteristics between the two.
When listing the characteristics for each government you should answer the following questions (for both Athens and the United States) then place your answers in the correct area on the diagram:
Who can participate in government?
Who has the power in government?
Who proposes laws?
Who votes on laws?
How is the leader chosen?
What branches does the government have?
What does each branch of government do?
How do juries operate?
How are people represented at trials?
Who is excluded from participating in government?
Give the diagram a title at the top of the page. Be sure to label each section of the diagram.
You must also decorate your page using color and pictures. Make sure that the decorations do not take away from the information being presented.
Proper spelling and grammar mechanics are a requirement as well.
