Here you will complete a WebQuest to get information on your Hypothesis.
Use the resources below to complete the WebQuest that can be found at the link below.
After completing the WebQuest, complete the project below.
Be sure to look at the project requirements to make sure you are completing it correctly.
Project Overview: Students will work in groups of 3 to explore key aspects of the Renaissance period by researching an important figure from this time and creating a poster sharing their research. The project will encourage collaboration, creativity, and research skills.
Project Objective:
Research a major figure from the Renaissance period.
Understand how the Renaissance figure changed art, science, and/or culture.
Present findings in a creative way that engages the class.
Project Steps & Timeline:
Day 1: Introduction and begin Research
Each group selects a historical figure from the Renaissance from the following list:
Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, Galileo Galilei, Queen Elizabeth I, William Shakespeare, Johannes Gutenberg, Nicolaus Copernicus, Niccolò Machiavelli, Desiderius Erasmus, Petrarch.
Research:
Using books online resources, students will gather information on their selected topic. They should focus on:
Key Facts: Who, what, when, where, why.
Impact: How the person influenced the Renaissance and the world today. Tell about their early life, what set them on their path to greatness, what did they do to become famous or to impact the world, how are they still influencing the world today. Gather DETAILS, do not just do surface level research.
Visuals: Find pictures or diagrams to include on your poster.
Day 2: Continue research and Organize the Information
After researching, students will work together to decide how to present their findings on their poster.
Plan out the layout for your poster, the coloring, any drawings or pictures.
Divide the Work:
Each member of the group will take responsibility for a portion of the poster. This is essential. I will be watching to see if there are people who are not participating and it will affect your grade.
Day 3: Creation of the poster
Work on the Project:
Groups will spend the majority of Day 3 putting their project together, making sure they:
Include all necessary information.
Organize the content logically.
Ensure visuals and text are clear and engaging.
Day 4: Finalize the poster
Groups will finish the details of their poster and turn in the final project at the end of the class period.
