Reformation Time Travel Project
Objective:
Students will research key events, people, and ideas from the Reformation and create a time travel experience that teaches others about this important period in history.
Project Overview: YOU WILL BE DOING THE PROJECT ON YOUR OWN...NO GROUP WORK FOR THIS
Imagine you are a time traveler sent back to the Reformation! Your job is to create a fun and informative way to teach others about what you saw and experienced. You will choose one of the following ways to share your knowledge:
News Report – Create a newspaper front page or a news broadcast covering a major event in the Reformation, like Martin Luther posting his 95 Theses or King Henry VIII breaking from the Catholic Church.
Interview with a Reformer – Write and perform (or record) an interview with someone like Martin Luther, John Calvin, or Queen Elizabeth I, asking them about their beliefs and actions.
Comic Strip or Storybook – Illustrate and write a short comic or children’s book explaining the Reformation in a creative way.
Reformation Travel Brochure – Design a travel brochure for someone visiting different places during the Reformation, such as Wittenberg, Geneva, or Rome. Include major historical events and figures they might “meet” in each location.
Timeline Scrapbook – Create a scrapbook with pictures, diary entries, and newspaper clippings that show the key events of the Reformation in order.
Requirements:
Include at least three important events from the Reformation.
Mention at least two key people from the Reformation and explain their role.
Show an understanding of why the Reformation happened and how it changed Europe.
Be creative! Use drawings, maps, props, or digital tools to bring your project to life.
